Is it free?
The client is — forever: bring your own servers and any configs with no limits. Premium is for when you don't have a server: you get a ready-made Veli key and access to our nodes in ten countries.
Do I need my own server?
Not necessarily: you can import a ready config, a vless:// link or a subscription. But if you have a VPS, the app connects over SSH, installs the server and creates a profile for you.
Which protocols are supported?
VLESS Reality, VMess, Trojan, Shadowsocks and Outline, Hysteria2, TUIC, AmneziaWG, WireGuard and OpenVPN, plus Clash and base64 subscriptions with auto-update. Connect your own servers and configs without limits. Premium servers run our own Veli protocol.
Which protocol should I choose?
If VPNs aren't blocked where you are — WireGuard: it's the fastest. If they are — VLESS Reality on your own server or Veli with Premium: to your ISP both look like an ordinary website. On lossy mobile networks Hysteria2 and TUIC help. A detailed breakdown is in the docs.
Which operating systems are supported?
The client is available for Windows, macOS, Linux and Android. The Veli server side is a Linux package with systemd.
Can I actually play games over the VPN?
That is what game mode is for: only the game goes through the tunnel — or only the game goes around it — launchers download directly and the protocol is tuned for low latency. The app measures latency to the match server with and without the VPN, so the decision is made on numbers rather than on feel.
What happens if the VPN goes down?
The kill switch blocks traffic until the tunnel is back, and automation reconnects to the next healthy server. DNS and IPv6 leaks can be tested right from the app.

Where are profiles stored, and can I move them to another computer?
In the app data folder — the path is in Settings → About. To move: Backup → Export, then import on the new computer with the same password. Existing profiles are not overwritten. Autostart and kill switch are not restored from the backup: turn them on by hand.
How is a subscription different from a one-off import?
Importing a link fetches the list once. A subscription in Settings refreshes on an interval: the provider added a node — it appears on its own. Subscription nodes are marked in the profile list and are not edited like regular ones.
How do I switch country on Premium?
They are regular profiles after you activate the key. On Home pick a city or press Fastest. You do not change the key — it does not contain a server address.
Why does my bank or a government site open “from somewhere else”?
They are going through the tunnel. In Apps & sites turn on “Russian sites direct” or add the domain to exceptions. After Save, press Reconnect if the VPN was already on.
Do I need to install separate VPN programs?
Not for Veli and the built-in WireGuard. The app installs the components for VLESS and other proxy protocols itself from Settings → VPN clients if a profile cannot come up without them. A third-party installer is only if you chose that.
What does Ctrl+K do?
The command palette: connect, switch profile, activate a key, open diagnostics, toggle the kill switch. The global hotkey from Settings does the same from any window, even when the client is in the tray. F1 shows the key list.
Why does split tunneling not work on WireGuard?
App and site lists work on VLESS, VMess, Trojan, Shadowsocks, Hysteria2 and TUIC profiles. On WireGuard and OpenVPN profiles they are saved but do nothing. For your own server install VLESS Reality or import a JSON config.
How do I open the mini window over the game?
Settings → Mini window or a command in Ctrl+K. It is a separate Windows window, not an overlay inside the game. Turn on always on top. During a match the speed chart is replaced by ping to the game server.
What does “2 hops” on a profile mean?
A server chain: traffic goes through two nodes. Set it on the Routes and DNS tab for VLESS, Trojan, Shadowsocks and other proxy profiles.
Can I get a QR for the phone?
In the profile row menu — QR code for phone (not for OpenVPN). AmneziaWG has a separate vpn:// key for the AmneziaVPN app.
How do I choose a plan when paying?
The button on the site or in the app opens the checkout page with the plan already selected — you can change it there. A replay of the same payment does not issue a second key: if the key did not appear, write to support — do not pay again.
